If all is fair in love and war let the battle begin!

EVAN’S SURRENDER is the fifth book in the Montgomery Family and Friends series. It is a contemporary romance with a strong sense of heart and home, relevant secondary characters, and a happily-ever-after ending. It features a sexy and stubborn hero who is determined not to give in to his feelings, a feisty heroine prepared to do anything it takes to capture the love of her life, and a battle of the heart that neither can afford to lose.

Heather Shepard and Evan Scott were first introduced in A MONTGOMERY HOMECOMING. They were both members of the ivory-billed woodpecker team that included Annabel Montgomery and Jonathan Chambers. Five years later and Heather is still trying to get Evan to see her as more than a pesky 'little sister.' She’s finally tired of waiting for Evan to come to his senses. She’s waging an all-out war to get Evan’s attention and win his heart.

Evan has wanted Heather for years, but has managed to keep her out of his bed by iron will alone. Their mothers have been best friends since elementary school. That makes things complicated, and everybody knows Evan doesn’t do complicated. Now he’s under attack and Heather is not playing fair! It seems that nothing less than his total surrender will do!

EVAN'S SURRENDER is the fifth book in the Montgomery Family and Friends series. It gives you a better insight as to why Evan has acted out sexually like he had during the first two books.. Evan and Heather have known each other all their lives. Their families were very close, so the two of they more or less grew up together. He mainly viewed her as a pesky younger sister. He knew she always carried a huge crush on him, but he didn't feel the same way and he tried to avoid he as much as he could. So when he'd received the invite to her 18th. Birthday party he was dreading it to say the least. But he knew he needed to put in an appearance, even if he only stayed for a few minutes. If he didn't, there would be hell to pay from both sets of parents. Because of his avoidence; he hadn't seen her for a few years and boy was he surprised to see how she had grown into such a beautiful woman. She was nothing like the gangly teenagers he'd remembered her to be. The minute their eyes met there was an instant attraction. When they were left alone in the hallway down the hall, they share what started out to be just an innocent hug and kiss which turned out more like out of control passion.

That is until they were busted by their mothers, who were shocked horrified. Soon Evan was banished from the party, but not before he gave Heather the gift that he'd brought her. Later on she is in a class that Evan taught at the local University. In her senior year; they were both members of the ivory-billed woodpecker team that included Annabel Montgomery and Jonathan Chambers. Five years later and Heather is still trying to get Evan to see her as more than a pesky "little sister". She's finally tired of waiting for Evan to come to his senses. She's waging an all out war to get Evan's attention and win his heart. She figures she'll either win the whole ball of wax, or go away empty handed, but she's tired of living in limbo while he flaunts woman after woman in her face.

Evan has wanted Heather for years, but has managed to keep her out of his bed by iron will alone. In order to do that, he tries to burn her out of his mind by having affair after affair. But not one of those women he has taken to bed in the last five years, has done enough to make him forget about the strong attraction that he has for Heather from his mind. They were all just poor substitutes for what he craved the most, and that would be Heather.

Still he has to try to fight those feelings for the well being of everyone involved, because their mothers have been best friends since elementary school. That makes things complicated and everybody knows Evan doesn't do complicated.

And he thought he was doing a good job, until Heather decides to pull out all the stops to get what she wants, and she is determined not to give up until she gets it all. And what she wants more than anything else in the world is Evan Scott....heart and soul.

Evan Surrender Montgomery Family and Friends Book 5 edition by Iris Abbott Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is book five in the series and it also kept me reading the book in one sitting. Great love story and it continues to bring in the other characters in the previous 4 books.
I love this author and this is a great second chance of learning story. Evan is so stubborn and Heather is a romantic. Don't think I would put up with all she did.
I really enjoyed this book. It really filled out Evans character beyond just the careless playbook we saw in the previous books. The build-up was good, the conflict was clever and the characters were golden. However, the ending was very sudden. They went from fighting and giving up hope to happily ever after in less than two pages and then the book ended. It was a little frustrating but I would still say it is worth reading.
Evan is introduced in "A Montgomery Homecoming", Book 1 of the Montgomery Family and Friends series. He's a womanizer of the worst sort and he comes across as very slimy in both book 1 and book 2 (Aubrey's Song) of the series. However, as this story begins, we see what causes Evan to become such a player and, as it turns out, he does have his own sense of honor, if it's a bit skewed toward "other" women. I appreciate the author's ability to take a character that I honestly didn't like, and would have been perfectly happy not seeing again, and fleshing him out, making him real, human, imperfect and someone I ended up not just rooting for, but liking very much. The relationship between Evan and Heather has existed since Heather was born so that existing history helps add depth and meaning to the story and their emotions. This is actually one of my favorite stories in the whole series and that's saying something!
